Visit the Best Wineries in Sonoma
Experience the amazing wine varietals Sonoma has to offer.
Sonoma is one of California's world-class wine regions. With its diverse climates and viticultural regions, it offers wine lovers an incredible variety to sample. These are some of the places you won't want to miss on your next tasting trip.
Banshee Wines Tasting Room
Founded in 2009, Banshee specializes in Sonoma County pinot noir and works with some of the state's most prized vineyards. Many of these wines, as well as their chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and syrah, are available to taste at their Healdsburg location.
Hanzell
Hanzell produces one of the best (if not the best) California aged pinot noir. Their chardonnay is also legendary. Several years ago, Sebella was introduced, a chardonnay so exquisite that it would be drunk before it could be bottled. Located in the newly established Moon Mountain AVA, it has majestic views over Sonoma.
Laurel Glen Vineyard
Laurel Glen has been making excellent cabernet sauvignon since 1981 in their Sonoma Mountain vineyards. Counterpoint cabernet sauvignon is a great value wine and the Crazy Old Vine rosé is perfect for summer sipping.
Porter Bass Winery
Located in one of the coldest places in Sonoma County, Porter Bass makes very well-balanced, subtle and complex wines: pinot noir, chardonnay and zinfandel. Poco a Poco wines are also fabulous. This is one of California's few Demeter-certified biodynamic properties.
Porter Creek Vineyards
Porter Creek is a family-owned winery that uses organic methods and is steeped in French winemaking tradition. Although its production is focused mainly on pinot noir, carignan aged wine and George Hill chardonnay also stand out.
Pax Wines
Pax Mahle has done an excellent job making California natural wines accessible to a broader market. With his labels, Pax and Agharta, he offers a wide selection of cool and warm climate wines from a wide variety of popular and enigmatic grapes.
